Girls' best friend
Bags are the girls' best friend. That's the reason why we spend so much of time and money in order to find our personal IT bag. The effort is meticulous and focussed to get hold of the perfect bag which cater to all our needs. An ideal bag should be able to contain all our quintessential things without which our day wouldn't go on.
One of the most important thing in my wardrobe is my college box tote. It's a Charles&keith piece and it's apt for casual college day. It holds my assignments and notes. Plus it's my favourite colour and brightens my all black outfit often.
Next on my list is the one that is true staple of every wardrobe. This black charles&keith purse is the chameleon of the world of bags. I can take to college when I have super long day as it has the side sling function or I can take it to the mall when I am in my shopping avatar buying everything and anything.
One of the other staple sister is this Aldo clutch cum sling purse. It is appropriate to take to a club because you aren't scared of losing it while dancing. It adds the factor of sophistication to any outfit. I even wore it with my saree in my graduation.
I totally love this yellow da Milano bag. It represents my fashion philosophy. Bright, compact and elegant. It is big enough to carry all your essentials and small enough not to overdo any outfit. It's one of my personal favourite and have even got my crush to compliment me on this bag.
Any wardrobe is not complete without the box clutch. This is an excellent piece from SatyaPaul for formal occasions. It's small and easy to carry and gel well both with western as well as traditional Indian wear.
Last piece is the latest addition to my collection. I just got it about a week ago from charles&keith. The moment I saw it, I fell in love with nudish pink colour. The texture with plush feel of it makes it the epitome of summer freshness.
All these bags reflect myself in some way or the other. Be it the colour or texture or the utility function.
Don't be afraid to splurge on these because these last long and form the categorical part of your life.

Ladies and Boots
Boots first
became prominent in 1960’s . But they were highly criticized by many
A-list designers . Boots were considered usually a superfluous accessory
, more at home in a college girl’s closet than in the wardrobe of an
elegant woman . But I think boots are symbol of women’s new freedom and
emancipation.
They not only keep you warm but also give you a certain sense of independence. After all how far and how fast can you walk in a pair of high-heeled pumps. After all for how long can you stay in high heeled pumps . You can pair boots with everything and anything. Be it a short skirt or a simple pair of jeans . They are certainly a reason to leave the warmth of your houses and go out to explore the cold rugged world. Julie Roberts wore thigh high boots in ‘Pretty Woman’. From then now they got the image of kinky boots worn by prostitutes. But the modern woman don’t think so. they are happy to wear them to their board meeting because not only they are stylish , they are their pride too.
A warning to guys if you see a girl wearing boots in a club, don’t try hitting on her because she is too independent for you to handle. So the world better get ready to welcome the super girls who are not afraid of anything or anyone!

Window Shopping - Baby Pink
We are regularly on the look out for the next big bridal concept, it usually starts its beginnings in the window displays in Khushboos by Chand the Birmingham based couture designer.
These idea concepts then quickly get adapted by the reaming "designer" watchers who add a few twists in the attempt try and customise/copy a Khushboos by Chand piece. The Genuine is always in a league of its own look at this amazing example from their current window display. Click here to see the last display we also featured and loved.
Website extact:
"Khushboos by Chand’s history and fascination has always centered upon the Asian fashion industry. Working with some of the most talented, experienced designers fresh concepts are bought forward. It is this attention to detail and the extraordinary range of ready to wear, bespoke, mehndi, wedding and reception wear that makes Khushboo the landmark shopping estate it is today."

How to winged eyeliner
The easy 3 step method to create winged eyeliner.
Winged liner is a classic way of adding drama to a everyday look. I've been asked on many occasions how i create it. So i have put together a simple 3 step method to create the perfect wing every time. I've also included pictures of me applying it on my sister to help make it easier to understand.
Step 1: Draw a diagonal line from the outer corner of the eye towards the eyebrow. The length of this line will depend on how long you want the wing to be.
Step 2: From the tip of the line, draw a line back towards the lid. This should create a triangular shape at the end of the eye.
Step 3: Draw a line from the inner corner towards the outer corner connecting the lines & fill them in.
And there you have it, the perfect wing in 3 simple steps.

Shafs Top 3 Hijab Styles
Every woman that wears the hijab has her own unique way of styling it to adhere to her preferred level of comfort. Being a hijabi (hijab wearer) myself, it can be quite tough trying something new. So, i've decided to put together a 'top 3 hijab styles' based on what i feel is comfortable for me & could be for you too.
Style one: The every day hijab
| Woven Paisley Pashmina buy at hijab-ista.com |
Style two: The loose hijab
| Chiffon Shimmer Hijab buy at Hijab-ista.com |
Style three: The turban hijab
This style can be worn both day & night to help achieve a glamorous look. The turban can be styled in many different ways and will also go beautifully with outfits that are mostly decorated around the neck area. Earrings can also be worn with this look which instantly change the whole appearance.

Favourite Mac Lipsticks
My all-time favourite Mac lipsticks
MAC lipsticks have always been my favourite ever since I bought my first ever lip product from the MAC counters aged 15. I haven’t looked back since! Beautiful textures and abstract colours at mainly affordable prices have ensured that MAC products remain my fave! Enjoy my top 5 MAC lipsticks and let me know which brands/colours are your fave so I can try them ;-)

Disclaimer: Some lipsticks stated below (*) are matte lipsticks so use a lip balm before applying to avoid your lips from drying out.
1. Heroine
This beautiful shade of deep purple looks amazing as an accessory for a night on the town. Its almost gothic look and smooth application makes for an easy way to glamourize any outfit. It may be summer, but I have a feeling this colour will be a classic.
2. Neon Orange
Orange is a colour that can be rare to pull off. The neon orange lipstick is a beautiful colour, but usually looks better when used for adding a pop of colour in a stark outfit, as opposed to matching to the said outfit. Use wisely and the neon orange lipstick could brighten up your summer!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I love nude lipsticks. However, for some reason I much prefer them in the winter. For a twist on the classic nude lipstick, Hot Tahiti is the perfect replacement! Compliments almost any outfit, which is perfect for the lip shade that requires minimal thought, (perfect when you’re rushing around / getting late!)
4. Relentlessly Red
Every girl needs a red lipstick in her make-up bags. Not everyone suits red, which is absolutely fine, but any kind of red (especially Relentlessly Red) adds a pop of colour to any outfit. For the girls who don’t like bright red lipstick, it is a more subtle shade of pink with undertones of coral.
5. Flat Out Fabulous
I’ve saved my most favourite lipstick until last! I love this shade of pink; it’s an ultimate summer colour being bright and the ability to look glam without looking OTT. The shade could differ according to your skin colour (some people have said it looks like a bright fuchsia, whereas others have mentioned plum undertones). However, one thing I can guarantee is the name is a true reflection of how it makes you look and feel – FLAT OUT FABULOUS!

Wardrobe Essentials Part Two
If you haven't read Part One you can find that here
The prime problem that we face is matching bright colours. When we
decide to play with bright colours, we want that look to be fun,
vivacious and not taken too seriously. Vibrant yellows and Versace go
hand in hand but this combination of such a loud colour takes a bit of
courage to pull off with style. You have to feel and look good in what
you wear. Choose a strapless cocktail dress with an eye catching detail
like a zipper belt and don it with a crystal belt and complete the look
with a sexy purple lipsktick and bang on, you'll catch all eyes.
Second
most avoided style is boho print. Boho print is commonly found on maxi
dresses and fortunately, maxi dresses are not a task to style. The
combination of a maxi dress and a vest is a fashion marriage made in
heaven. Maxi has a fantastic sillhoutte and a floaty look. It can work
wonders on all body shape. Point to note: the larger you are, the less
bold the prints should be. Keep it simple and sexy. Plus point for
maxis, the vertical lines on it will lengthen your body making you look
taller sexier. Complete the look with ethnic necklace, boho bangles and
gladiator sandals of similar shades and you're ready to step out to
flaunt.
Last but not the least, cocktail chic style. A cocktail dress is a must have in every ladies wardrobe. It helps to flatter womanly curves for you to stand proud and work it. Armani is known for some super sexy cocktail dresses. A simple short sleeved or strapless silver tulip shaped cocktailndress embodies sophistication and elegance that one needs. Once you'e found the right piece, it's all about accessorizing it the right way to maximize the potential of the cocktail dress. Get your fashion savvy fingers on an oversized pin and attach it to the simple elegant dress to create a statement. Top it up with a matching metallic belt for an extra edgy look. If you're lucky enough to find a vintage bag at a reasonable price, buy now or regret forever. You'll be dragging it out for all occassion as it will never date. There you go, you're ready to flaunt it chic.
Matching
outfits isn't that tough. Unleash your creative side and you'll be able
to. It's always important to feel and look good in whatever you wear.

Wardrobe Essentials Part One
Guys - I have a two part special for you on wardrobe essentials, my plan is too post part two this time next week so keep tuned,
Lets get straight into it, we all adore fashion especially those glamorous and exclusive looks you see on the runway created by top designers in the world. However, it's not that easy to keep up with trends and constantly updating our wardrobe to try to replicate these looks and move a step ahead in fashion.
If you're planning to update your wardrobe with some essentials, look no further. In this post, I'll help you decide what are the must-haves in your wardrobe and how you wear them well.
First and foremost, a little black dress and a pencil skirt. This is highly recommended in every ladies' wardrobe. To find the perfect piece to fit your style, you have to think classic and flattering to your body shape. For the pencil skirt, make sure you find an exclusive piece that hits either the top of your knee or centre...no compromise. Shorter looks tacky and longer looks frumpy which will not enhance the sexy look that you're aiming for.
Second must have are tshirts that suit your shape. This is a simple yet important item that you have to take note. Neither do you want to reveal whatever you have too much nor do you want to hide them. If you're small in the bust department, a turtle or crew neck t-shirt is best for you. Bigger busted ladies should go for either deep V-neck cut or low scopped round neck cut t-shirts.
Last but not the least, denim... It's never and will never be easy to find a perfect pair of denims to flaunt. However, a pair of skinny and a pair of boot cut jeans in either blue or black will serve all your denim needs. You save all the trouble scratching your head trying to look for the perfect cut.
Now that I'm done introducing you to the three must haves pieces in a ladies' wardrobe, I want to shift attention to pulling off quirky styles. I'm sure you will agree with me when I say at least once, you've tried to put on something a bit to bright but then decided to change out of it because you don't want to look like a clown .
Worry not ladies, I will be revealing the secret to pulling these looks off. Only one catch you have to wait for part two this time next week.

The outfit for any occasion - Kiran Seeley
Don’t know what to wear for that one special occasion?
I completely understand. It’s a common feeling for us women. A wardrobe full of clothes, a rack full of shoes, bags full of make-up and still nothing to wear! It’s a nightmare.
However, one outfit I feel fits all of the general social occasions a woman can attend is this one. The short black skirt, from Miss Selfridge teamed with a sassy pair of high heels makes legs seem longer and more defined.
The platform heels were from New Look and incorporate the two main colours I was wearing. One quick tip for any outfit – always always always ensure that your accessories match. If you’re wearing red heels, team it with a red handbag and red lipstick. It just looks like you’ve co-ordinated your style and helps create a smarter, sleek look.
I teamed the skirt with a plain pale t-shirt and a lace jacket from River Island. Sophisticated and elegant without looking too over-dressed all in one look. The pink lace jacket I’ve had for years and looks great teamed up with a pair of skinny jeans too, or any outfit for that matter. This is the type of jacket that I feel every girl should own.

In her handbag - Divya
One of my favourite products at the moment is something that every woman should keep in her handbag. For people like me who don’t get enough sleep or are always on the go, it is perfect. It comes in at just under £9 but it’s definitely worth the money! I use it underneath my eyes to conceal the dark rings beneath my eyes when I haven’t had enough sleep (I’m sure many of you can relate).
I’ve also recently purchased a Mac lipstick in the colour of Crème Cup. The colour is perfect for any skin colour because it’s a mix of nude and pale pink. I’ve bought quite a few products from Mac and it’s a good brand and hasn’t let me down before. Definitely worth the money as the lipstick is usually long lasting and only needs 1 coat to last a few hours.

My ultimate style hero
My ultimate style hero has to be Angelina Jolie. I realise she’s a figure of some controversy and people either love her or hate her. However, I think she’s incredibly strong, confident, sexy and talented. She seems like a truly devoted mother and I really admire her work as a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN. She does a lot for charity and I also think her style: wearing a lot of black, having tattoos and looking so polished and glamorous, makes her a wonderful and unique role model.
So now you know a bit more about me, keep reading my entries if it takes your fancy! My next blog is going to be about accessorizing so stay tuned!

Coco Chanel - West meets East
I have to praise Coco Chanel for bringing smart tailoring to women. She is a massive style inspiration to me. She knew that tailoring would give women a sexy silhouette, cinched-in waists, shape, definition and classically timeless style.
I went to the Fashion Museum in Bath a couple of weeks ago and saw some amazing pieces. The exhibition was ‘50 dresses that changed the world’ and this was a favourite look of mine:
Black Wool Suit with White Blouse, Chanel – mid 1960’s
It also came with a quote from Coco herself: “Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity.”
I love the elegance of this outfit, and how it’s so classical that it wouldn’t look out of place for a woman to wear it nowadays. Coco Chanel invented monochrome. Black tailored trousers and a blazer with a white shirt and bold accessories is such a strong, sexy look. I’ll fully admit that having an office job can be quite boring but I love being able to wear tailored, feminine outfits!
I also have to include a picture of Emma Watson from this year’s Cannes
Film Festival in her monochrome Chanel dress. She just looked so
stunning. Emma Watson’s style always hits the mark.
